Bees meet flowers over at the flower farm!

If you've visited our flagship store over the past year you've seen that we've begun the flower farming journey. What was initially designed to show visitors on our beekeeping experiences about how bees pollinate and why they're so important to our circle of life has turned into a fully booked pick your own dahlia field with nearly 1500 plants in the ground!

Last year we welcomed hundreds of people through our few rows of dahlia plants and started the concept of pick your own flowers, this year we have hundreds of bookings and a far more manageable approach to coming along and enjoying the flowers. So far we've had some amazing advertising happening appearing in the Air New Zealand Kia Ora Magazine for the month of January, the Wairarapa Lifestyle Magazine summer edition and some incredible social media opportunities.

Our plants are in full bloom and we expect them to just get better as the month ticks along, peaking in the middle of March and then disappearing as soon as we get that first frost come knocking on the door.

If you're wanting to get some epic flower photos, now is the time to come - but just remember our flower fields are open to the public, you are sharing the space with others so please be respectful. The times to come for these are during our normal shop hours - 1030am - 230pm, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Key points to note:

🌼  Pick Your Own is only available through pre-booking on our website - click on the Book Me button to choose your date/time and flower experience options.

🌼  Our flower fields are open to the public at no cost during our regular shop hours - Friday, Saturday and Sunday's 1030-230pm.

🐝  Remember that we're first and foremost a honey farm and there will be bees around the flowers - it's the whole point of the flower farm. Please wear make sure you've got something on your feet! Jandals and Sandals are absolutely fine, bare feet not so much... there will always be the risk of getting stung anytime there's flowers and bees, we certainly aren't an exception.

Next year - we'll go bigger and better again, should we add a winter flower in?
